Pulled Pork Recipe

Today is a post for a pulled pork recipe. I did get some ideas for this recipe from others, but all of the ingredients and the amount of the ingredients is what I chose (including some ingredients I didn’t see anywhere). Pulled pork is relatively easy to make, it just takes a while.┬áThis recipe is so tender and juicy, it just melts in your mouth.

Tools you’ll need:

Crock Pot

Pam Cooking Spray

Fork

Cutting Board or Plate

Ingredients:

Pork Shoulder (about 5 pounds-I have a smaller-sized crock pot)

Water

Worcestershire Sauce ( I use the Lea & Perrins brand)

Mustard

Salt

Pepper

Paprika

Chili Powder

Red Cayenne Pepper

Garlic Salt

Garlic Powder

Onion Powder

Greek Seasoning (optional)

Bar-B-Que Sauce

Plug-in the crock pot and set it on high. Spray the pot with the cooking spray and place the pork shoulder in it (you can cut off the fat now, but it is easier if you wait until the meat is finished cooking). Fill the pot with water until it covers the pork completely, it usually takes about 4-6 cups of water. Next, just open the Worcestershire sauce and pour it in a circle around the meat about four to five times. Open the mustard and just squirt the bottle in a circle three times on top of the meat. Add three shakes of salt, three shakes of paprika, five shakes of pepper, two or three shakes of chili powder, two shakes of the red cayenne pepper, three shakes of garlic salt, three shakes of garlic powder, four shakes of onion powder, and two to three shakes of Greek seasoning. Put the lid on the pot and cook on high for at least 6 hours. I normally try to leave it in there for at least 7 hours so that it’ll be extra tender. Once the cooking time is done, place the pork shoulder on a cutting board or a plate, cut the fat off with a fork, and proceed to pull apart the pork in a shredded fashion with the fork. Serve it with your favorite Bar-B-Que sauce and it’s ready to eat! Personally, I love to serve my pulled pork with Bone Suckin’ Sauce┬«. It is a very awesome sauce.

In Times of Grief

This is the first post I have made in a while. My son came down sick, as did I, and we’re both still trying to get better. It is sad to me that my first post in roughly three weeks is about the massacres of little children in Connecticut and the injured children in China.

Today, a young man went into an elementary school in Newtown, CT and murdered 20 children, 6 adults, and then killed himself. People are trying to make sense of this tragedy, but I don’t believe that sense can be made of it. If you can make sense of why one young man murdered 20 children, then something is wrong with you.

In China, 22 innocent children and an 85-year-old woman were stabbed by a mentally deranged man. China has seen several attacks on school children since 2010. School children are targeted, because it will make the most impact.

It does not matter what weapon evil people choose to carry out their acts, what matters is that the evil people commit those acts. You cannot blame an inanimate object for despicable acts. You cannot legislate out evil or try to fix those people. Some people are just bad. Maybe we should do what the Israelis do in their school systems – their teachers are armed.

Tonight, say a prayer for all of the families affected by both tragedies. Pray to God to comfort those families who lost loved ones. Pray for those that are injured to make a speedy recovery. Pray to God in hopes that these tragedies won’t keep happening. Hug your children tonight and thank God that you are able to hold them tight and kiss their cheeks.
